All the franchises opposed the idea of moving Pakistan Super League (PSL) to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the future.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), under the chair of management committee head Najam Sethi, held governing council meeting on Friday.
During the meeting, PCB presented the idea of moving PSL to UAE in the future. The PCB representatives briefed franchises on the benefits of PSL there.
PCB shared their concerns on extra expenditures on security and lack of crowd attention on different venues in the country. Also, PCB believes that more foreign cricketers will come to play PSL if it is played in UAE.
In reply, franchises opposed this idea and emphasised on continuing the country's only franchise league at home.
Meanwhile, franchises also didn't agree on the addition of two more teams in the league. They believe that players' pool is already limited.
PCB also shared that PSL 8 earned good profits which will be shared with the franchises in due course.
This year, Lahore Qalandars defended their PSL title after defeating Multan Sultans in the final in Lahore.
